Does anyone have problems with Disk Partition Icons missing in My Network Places. When I look at My Network Places - this Computer often has some disk icons missing from the Computer - and they appear in a separate Group. Missing dial up network icon from My computer
The problem is all my icons in the network and Dial up Connections Folder are missing ie if I go to that folder there is nothing in it. If I try to recreate one of the missing icons win2000 reports it already exists although I can't see it. Everything seems to be working still but how can I get my icons back?

When i open up my network connections folder, neither dial-up or LAN network icons are there. Sometimes i get an error message that says "The Network Connections folder was unable to retrieve a list of Network adapters on your machine. When I right click my network neighborhood and click properties all my network Icons are missing. My network connections are still working but I am unable to change any of my network settings. I have tried both Q269019 and Q254631 from support.microsoft.com but both solutions have failed.
